a little place we call "friday night"

Oh it is the weeks end. which means its friday. Looking forward to the usual -- The Third Rail after work for some good beer and yummy food. Ever since my fiance, Kevin, and I moved to Blandon we have made The Third Rail a staple every week. Our tradition is that every friday we go there for happy hour and dinner.

A LITTLE ABOUT THIRD RAIL AS I KNOW IT: The Third Rail Restaurant & Bar used to be a biker bar (my mom's boyfriend tells us). The kind of place that you dont go to alone. Very dark and very biker-ish. Sometime in the last year to 2 years, a new owner has bought the place and made it a very respectable watering hole. It has a local bar feel and great food. We love it because we can always get a seat at the bar (which might I add is gorgeous wood with a pounded copper surface), we get some good beer (my favorite is Blue Moon - with a slice of orange - and Kevin usually gets a Boddingtons or a Yuengling - although as the owner knows you can never guess what he'll order next. It could be a Bud or a scotch on the rocks), and its close to our house.

FAVORITE FOOD AT THE THIRD RAIL: I prefer either the chicken cheesesteak which is the best I've ever had, with melted cheese and marinara sauce, or the chicken salad sandwich. Kevin raves about their wings, and I must say, although I dont eat wings the parmesan peppercorn wing sauce is awesome. He also gets the apple sausage sandwich or the pulled pork sandwich. Just last week he had the Swiss avocado burger and that was amazing as well. We also go there for their hand cut french fries. With a little cheese sauce they hit the spot.
BOTTOM LINE: we love all of their food. Havent found anything to complain about yet.
